Golden Lollipop Discus
$75.00 – $259.00
Sunny afternoons in early spring are my absolute favorite time of the year. Dandelions and daffodils bloom all over the place and the atmosphere is filled with inexplicable joy. I get the same feeling when I look at the Golden Lollipop Discus.
Beautifully round as the sun in the clear blue sky, this fish is reminiscent of all things cheerful: a Sunday breakfast of sunny-side-up eggs and bacon, my favorite childhood song “Yellow submarine”, I’d sing it whenever the legendary Beatles’ song came on the radio in the living room. My dad kept a fragrant piece of amber that he had found by the seaside next to the old radio. I watch this fish and am transported back in time again, this time to my days in college. I remember that fragrant bouquet of daffodils I got from my college sweetheart, and a bright yellow dress that I wore to our first date. We went for milkshakes that lovely afternoon and “Yellow submarine” was blasting from the juke box.
It’s fascinating how by simply observing this yellow-orange fish swimming in the tank I am reminded of a sunrise in spring and the way that it makes the surroundings golden. I want a fish like that in my own tank so that I could experience this joyous season all year round, when the dandelions and daffodils start to bloom and fill the warming air with cheerfulness and beauty.

They are doing great and are still really beautiful!! Jadyn From Michael: Jadyn, you're a collector of discerning taste in discus. I'll be eagerly watching your progress. Congrats on building a tier-1 collection in such a short period of time.
Hi Michael! I received Discus today all is okay no problem, but there are some discus on it body that have sores on it, I don’t know it is healthy? From Michael: Normal wear and tear. Ammonia burns from shipping. Everything will heal within a week with some Paraguard.
Everyone is eating, they are already coming to me looking for food when I walk up to the tank and they are shoaling well together. Previous scale damage on the neon sapphire from the other shipment has also healed up.
This is a picture of your Golden Diamond Discus. Looks like what I have received even with the dusted black rim. So different from the lollipop that unfortunately passed away. Have a great weekend. From Michael: it could be stress or poor lighting that makes the "black dusting" come out.

Well, Michael,
As the video above shows, the discus arrived perfectly and are not stressed in any way that I can see. They are in their own tank with plenty of room except for my pesky test fish I use to “test” any new tank setup.
Your “picks” are perfect for my first order from you. These guys are going to thrive without any problem at all.
The “reds” I ordered I think will exhibit their red color in time. They are a very dark blue right now.
They are chowing down what I feed all my discus, frozen blood worms, frozen beef and turkey heart. I'll plant the plants later on today. All my tanks start with R/O water, Fluval filters, 82-degree water, plants from Modern Aquarium, and frozen food from Ken’s Fish.
I couldn't be happier with this order. I'll order some larger ones on my next order.
Many thanks, William (Rick) G
All fish appear to be doing well. All ate last night and this morning. They look great! Thanks! Will order more in the future as long as my tank can handle it.
These are the best I could get, hope they work out, thanks. I had some manzanita that was amazing but was hard to do maintenance around so I removed it, thanks for the tips.
Just want to say thank you for getting my order out. I know you don't ship on Fridays but you did it for me anyway and thank you once again. You have a repeat customer. By the way the fish are beautiful.
The supposed red lollipop is white hints of orange around its fins. From Michael: You ordered a baby fish. Also, it has been starved for 48 hours prior to being shipped and is stressed. The yellow coloration will come back within a week or so when it begins eating and feeling comfortable.
I have received the fish but the fish tank is broken, there is 1 fish with a broken bag and the water overflows I am following as instructed and waiting until tomorrow if there is any problem I will message you.
Michael is Amazing! He knew how upset I was about losing 9 fish, most 3 years old, which a couple were ordered from here. He showed empathy and did expedite shipping them which was above and beyond in my opinion. Thank you Michael for yet another beautiful group of Discus.
The Red Diamond has a beautiful, vibrant, striking red color, very well shaped and perfectly sized. She’s my tank beauty and shows her color nicely with the light blue background I have.
The Golden Lollipop is also well shaped and nice sized. He glides gracefully through my tank and his golden yellow color really pops with the driftwood pieces I have for decoration. I will be ordering again from you very soon. Your customer service is great, I feel your pricing is fair and delivery was prompt. Thank you again!
Hi Mike, Here are some pictures as requested. They ate some beefheart mix earlier today (mostly the German turquoise). Altums are mostly hanging out near the top and sides but occasionally swim around.
I just got the delivery. Put the bags in the tank for now. Have not see the fish yet. What is the yellow powder package for? Thanks. Fish looks beautiful. One of the angel went to heaven! Discuss is mixing in very well. The angels are still shy hiding. I turned on the light to take the pics. From Michael: the powder contains 2 doses of acriflavine to help the altums adjust.
All doing well and feeding in the quarantine tank. Was being a little bit of a bully to the other 2 smaller one. Look forward to increasing my collection. Thanks again Michael for doing your best to make things right.
Hi Michael, I appreciate your picks. They are definitely the most beautiful discus that I have ever owned. Everyone still looks ok except for the yellow one. I send you a picture below. Can you tell me what wrong which it? Any experience from you to help it. Thank you, Michael!
Just got them in quarantine! They survived first night in new tank! They are so beautiful! I'm realizing I think a few of my others are stunted compared to these guys! I'm thinking of making a separate tank and just having some more of yours in my bigger tank. Thank you! And thanks for awesome customer service your care for your fish really shows!
Hello Michael, It is my pleasure to review the recent discus purchase I made. In the first photo above are two Golden Lollipop discus. As per my request you picked out the full bright body color and superb round body shape. I couldn’t be more pleased!
I got all of them today with safe and healthy except one discus that has some red spot around the face and the mouth (See the pictures). I'm wondering if it is okay or natural? BTW I'm very glad to have them eventually. And I'd like to say thank you for the beautiful fish. All they are calm and still. I'll follow your guide until settling down in the new environment. I feel all the rest of things are under my responsibility and duty to take care of them well. Once they acclimate, I will post some videos on the email or your website. Thanks again. Much appreciated. BTW, all my family is very happy to have these gorgeous creatures. From Michael: The small lacerations you see are caused by shipping stress. The fish must have hit its face against the bags during transit. It will heal within a week and touch base with you.
Michael, my fish arrived healthy and beautiful. I did have two of my bags that leaked and came close to running out of water but luckily they arrived fast enough that I was able to get them in the tank without injury.I am sending you pictures of my tank with the variety of fish you have Picked out for me I thank you for the beautiful fish you sent to my home. Thank you, Michael.
Greetings from Indiana. Michael, here's a pic of my Golden Lollipop. I was hoping for a fish with a red eye and more red around the circumference. If you think this is a good representation of this strain I'll accept that. Thanks, Kent From Michael: It’s a perfect match for the strain. Keep in mind my photos are out of water. If you want one with a redder outer rim, I can keep my eye out for you. Sorry about your disappointment with the yellow one. I didn’t know you wanted more red. Some customers actually don’t prefer it.
Dear Mr. Li: After receiving a shipping, I noticed the Red Fuji Discus has a lot of black spots on gills and fins. I though that was from the natural born, but after 2 days, others fish stated having black spots on gills, fins, and body. On the day three, all the fish got it. I started raised the temperature to 88 and used API-General Cure for treatment. Try to hold off my second shipment for one week or two. Anything I can do to help my fish. I am new to discus. Thank you, An From Michael: The small black spots are what is called peppering in discus. It is normal for any pigeon strain, and does not indicate the fish are sick.
Hi Michael Li, I’m Coco. The fishes came safely and healthy. I still keep the light off so that I can’t see them clearly. But I think they are good. Thank you for choosing me beautiful fishes. I and my husband love them a lot.
The San Merah I looked at were solid red with a blue face.
Hi Michael, a few pics to show your beautiful fish after receiving them about a month ago. They are doing great!!
GM! Yes fish arrived. They look very nice and good size The Lollipop is still a little sluggish and pale this am. The Fuji is swimming all over and very photogenic but neither ate last night or this morning yet. The Corys are a great size and very pretty. Will keep you updated. Thank you
All arrived in good health. Thank you for the amazing and colorful selections.
The Small Golden Lollipop and Fuji Red are the stars of my tank. Interestingly, they “hang” together in the tank most always, traveling from end to end, and up and down in my 125G tank. They are beautiful together, contrasting one another, and demanding everyone’s eyes and attention upon first sight. They are social and friendly with all other tankmates, as well as our family of admirers who sit and gaze at their graceful beauty... it’s so relaxing. They actually seem to get excited to see and interact with us (perhaps showing off a bit), after only a few weeks in our home. I have had no experience dealing with any other Discus breeder or online supplier, and based on my initial experience with Discus.com and Michael Li... I have no reason to look elsewhere!
Hi Mike, the fishes are beautiful and healthy. They are adapting to the new environment well. They eat , swim, and mingle with the first batch. If I order fishes again from you, I won’t pick free shipping. It is so time-consuming. Thanks for follow-up.

Thanks Mike. Fish are doing fine. Temps are 88F, but they are not eating yet. I gave them food but that forces me to change the water more frequently in order to avoid pollution. But again, not to worry.
After 1 week:
Feeding time.... no longer shy... Hello Michael, this is the latest on your babies. Healthy and hungry. I hope they remain like that and continue improving. I thank you for your inputs. We'll keep in touch.
