Scorpion discus have a few requirements to be considered scorpions. They need 1) a solid colored parent (Blue Diamond or Cobalt), and a 14 bar Snakeskin as the other parent. The scorpion pattern becomes more “spotted” than “striated,” especially near the facial region. The easiest method to ID a scorpion is via the characteristic fine ‘squiggly’ pattern over the gill covers without a snakeskin background.
