Albino Red Golden Melon Discus
$98.00 – $201.00
Vivid and striking in color, the gilded scarlet Albino Red Golden Melon Discus fish, is velvety-smooth to touch. Not only will this fish serve as an accoutrement to a previously existing aquarium, but it will also be the proverbial “seed” of any new collector’s first tank. Orange-rose hues permeate the diamond-pared dorsal fins and gills in a way that is translucent and breathtaking.

Hi Michael yes everyone doing good thanks. You GREATEST my friend.
Hi Michael, the original 5 discus have welcomed in the 5 new arrivals... The 2 new albino raflessia's have some tail damage. One appears as a single split, which I figure will heal normally. Will the tails repair themselves? From Michael: Everything will heal up within a week with some Paraguard. Those are very superficial wounds from transit-related wear and tear.
Hey Michael I just received my order and at 10:30 this morning the picture I'm sending you with this message is supposed to be the albino Marlboro Reds and these have white faces and whitetails that's not the ones that I ordered if you need to give me a call. From Michael: Hi Henry, you ordered Albino Melons -- not Albino Marlboro Reds. The fish you received are juveniles, and the red coloration will spread into the face and fins as the fish approach 6.0" -- resembling my product photos of mature adults. Rest assured your order was correctly fulfilled.

Thanks for checking in. I have been quite happy with the discus I ordered back in December. You continue to have the best selection of unique discus anywhere. I felt that I received fish that were at least as big as what I paid for, and that is commendable.
Two things are keeping me from placing another order. Since you asked, I'm happy to share my perspective, which may help you.
The increased threshold from $400-$600 spent to qualify for free shipping is an absolute crusher for most people. For me to be spending $600 to qualify for free shipping is just not practical at this point.
The unpredictability with regards to when the fish will be shipped is a big challenge for working people. I can put a preference, but it would be helpful to lock in a shipment date. Let's be honest, if I spend upwards of $500 on a shipment, I'd like it to arrive on my day off rather than sit on my porch for 6 hours.
With that being said, I still might place another order in the coming weeks despite running out of space. I am particularly interested in an albino solid yellow strain with dark base. Thanks for asking my opinion.
Best wishes,
Michael

Hi Michael, thank you for your thoughtful email. It's great hearing from you, and congrats on your discus collection. Your fish look absolutely spectacular. Let me address each of your points.
1) Please point me to another discus seller that even offers free shipping in the first place. You won't find one because I'm the only one in existence. Discus.com guarantees customers the lowest possible price without jeopardizing fish quality due to the competitive relationships we have with our shipping accounts (mass volume) and overseas breeders. This winning formula is our secret recipe that enables Discus.com to be the #1 discus seller in the world by volume. At the end of the day, you won't find a better price point than what we offer. (Trust me, I've looked.)
2) We require a degree of flexibility from our customers, and they understand this. We are not in the business of selling furniture or computer equipment. Due to the complexities involved with shipping live tropical animals, circumstances may change up until the moment a customer's order is packed. For example, if we deem that certain specimens will not survive a trip, we would rather delay or cancel an order altogether rather than ship an order that will contain casualties.
Let me know if you have any questions. Very truly yours, Michael Li
Fish arrived fine.
Hi, my name is Mark W. I placed an order for 4 discus a few weeks ago. I do understand that shipping fish across the country comes with its challenges and I have realistic expectations however I lost one and am nursing another back from the brink. My main problem is not receiving what I ordered. I specifically wanted a solid red discus. Instead I received an albino orange and red melon and another orange discus. The blue one died. This is the second order I was given the wrong discus. I’d really like to get a solid red discus. Please advise. Thanks From Michael: Hi Mark, I'm sorry that you're disappointed. You ordered a 3” baby fish and are comparing it to a 7” adult fish. If you want exactly what’s in the photo, you need to order adults. Babies take time to grow into their final colors. The fish look 100% spot-on based on your pics. Also, if you’re finding that you’re repeatedly dissatisfied with my orders, you may need to find a different fish vendor and see if they’ll do a better job than I have for you. No discus is 100% solid red -- it doesn't exist. Not even the adults are if you look carefully enough.

Hi Michael:
As per our conversation, we received the package, but one of them came with no water and was dead. This was the turquoise discus. Attached pictures of dead fish with stick on eye.
Also, as I mentioned the red one does not look good, but as you instructed I will give it until tomorrow morning. Attached pic.
The albino millennium we ordered does not look like it, it looks more than the golden valentines discus!!! Attached pic.
Please acknowledge receipt of this email, and let me know how to proceed...
Thanks,
Martha for Alfonso R
All of the discus are up and moving this morning. The albino is still not 100% but better. I offered some food this morning. Some ate frozen blood worms. Some didn’t eat. I expected that. They are settling in. I’ll offer up some live brine shrimp later today to see if I can jump start their appetites.
The Sterbi’s are all doing good. I owe you for 1. You sent 9. Two of the gold nuggets are doing well. One is not moving much. We’re they tank raised or wild?
All in all I’m very pleased. I’ll get some pictures to you this morning.
FYI I’ve bred discus back in the 70’s and 80’s. Small time but I had 1500 gallons and probably 10 or 12 pairs at any given time. I loved my Heckles and Tefe’s the best. At that time there were some new crosses coming out. Solid colored, blues and greens mostly. The reds came later and were nothing like the reds of today. I’m partial to the wild discus always have been, but I really like all of the crosses you offered. I which I had more tank space.
I had switched to salt water and raised corals for 30 years. 18 plus tanks and 1000 gallons. I sent corals back to the oceans through the Chicago marine club of which I was the president of. That was a tough gig. All this time I’ve missed the discus. I have no intention of breeding anymore. Just taking care of them. Watching them has brought back memories of the fish and friends I’ve met through the years.
There is a lot of sellers out there who are taking advantage of the people looking to get into keeping discus. You are definitely one of the good guys. You are a rare guy, Mike. Keep up the good work. Thanks Mike.
Michael, thanks for the shipment! Fish look great. Wonderful choices. Golden Nugget is hiding but looked good last night.
Good morning, Thank you for checking in on the fish. They did arrive alive! They survived the night and appear to be eating this morning. Unfortunately, I did need to put them in the same tank as my other fish as they both looked dead when they arrived. They weren’t moving and appeared to have a very slow labored breathing pattern. Thank you for your help! Take care, David 24 Hour Update: Everyone is fine.
They all arrived OK at 11:30 in the morning my time they acclimated really good they look really good and healthy. Thank you so much Michael. I'm very happy with these guys let's see how it goes. This was the best shipment ever as far as acclimating and no stress on the fish.
Michael I said the fish were beautiful. My issue is the fish I have are these and I believe these are lollipops? I am sending you these I just took of them. I am trying to get them together.
Again, thanks for your help fish arrive in good shape. I feel very happy.
