Large Wild Atabapo Altum Angel Fish 4-5″
$40.00 – $550.00
The angel fish is truly a fish for different angles. On profile it’s a shimmering disc, but viewed from the front it seems to perform a vanishing trick. An ornate Ace of Spades, the Atabapo Altum prods gracefully through the water. It carries its elongated feelers for navigation, as though a compass around its neck. Its silver body with green-brown vertical stripes flushes with algal greens and reds as it matures. A dark strip runs from its eye like war paint for extra camouflage among the vegetation.
But its most prominent verticals are its raking caudal and dorsal fins. Turn your head sideways and these fins, tipped with silvery feathers, give it the appearance of a mythical bird in flight. It suddenly soars, a five-inch fin-span becoming an endless wingspan – and the tank floor a canyon hundreds of meters below. To smaller bottom-dwellers, its vast shadow must appear as its namesake: an angel.

Really good quality, and they are bigger than I thought they would be.
Hi Mike, Here are some pictures as requested. They ate some beefheart mix earlier today (mostly the German turquoise). Altums are mostly hanging out near the top and sides but occasionally swim around.
I just got the delivery. Put the bags in the tank for now. Have not see the fish yet. What is the yellow powder package for? Thanks. Fish looks beautiful. One of the angel went to heaven! Discuss is mixing in very well. The angels are still shy hiding. I turned on the light to take the pics. From Michael: the powder contains 2 doses of acriflavine to help the altums adjust.
