Sunny afternoons in early spring are my absolute favorite time of the year. Dandelions and daffodils bloom all over the place and the atmosphere is filled with inexplicable joy. I get the same feeling when I look at the Marlboro Yellow Discus.

Beautifully round as the sun in the clear blue sky, this fish is reminiscent of all things cheerful: a Sunday breakfast of sunny-side-up eggs and bacon, my favorite childhood song “Yellow submarine”, I’d sing it whenever the legendary Beatles’ song came on the radio in the living room. My dad kept a fragrant piece of amber that he had found by the seaside next to the old radio. I watch this fish and am transported back in time again, this time to my days in college. I remember that fragrant bouquet of daffodils I got from my college sweetheart, and a bright yellow dress that I wore to our first date. We went for milkshakes that lovely afternoon and “Yellow submarine” was blasting from the juke box.

It’s fascinating how by simply observing this yellow-orange fish swimming in the tank I am reminded of a sunrise in spring and the way that it makes the surroundings golden. I want a fish like that in my own tank so that I could experience this joyous season all year round, when the dandelions and daffodils start to bloom and fill the warming air with cheerfulness and beauty.

Good morning.  Yes - all the fish arrived and it good condition.  Most of them have settled in nicely.  There are a couple that still seem to be adjusting, but I think they'll be ok. The tank has been set up for a couple months now.  Fully cycled, but I started with some fresh driftwood and it has a nasty fuzzy coating that makes it look almost moldy and is clouding the water.  The store I bought the driftwood from said that is typical and will disappear on it's own.  I've been vacuuming it during water changes, but I think it's making the water cloudy and it doesn't look the greatest.

    Thanks again,

    Kendall
