Wild Orinoco Red Brown Discus

As the golden hour spreads its warmth over those last bits of late summer days, is my favorite time to run. I lace up my shoes, pull back my long mane of curly auburn hair, and head on foot toward the open Colorado fields, seemingly put on display by the last light of the day. With one glance at the delicate straw-colors of the Wild Orinco Red Brown Discus, I’m brought back to those sun-soaked fields of gold.

The coloring of this fish transports me to those simplistic outings, absorbed in the beauty of my surroundings. I can feel the rhythm of my legs methodically pushing along, while taking in the natural beauty of the variety of golden hues glistening in late-day sun. The discus glides through the water with grace, as I glide by pastures filled with golden grass. I can feel the weight of the day melt away as my legs carry me further, and further…isn’t that wonderful – the reminder of a cherished moment, all signaled by a mere color of a fish? I’d like to have one of these in a tank at home, reminding me to take pause and appreciate those moments that stick with me indelibly.
