Red Cover Discus, Proven Breeding Pair
$543.00 – $575.00
When we were kids, my sister and I visited Grandma in Florida. She bought us orange and red plastic sunglasses. Then, we’d jump in the pool. Splash! Sparkling, turquoise water. Lemon yellow swim suits. White bathing caps adorned with flowers: tangerine orange, saffron yellow, fire engine red. Shaded by palm trees, infused with color, we darted, like Red Cover Discus. Then, I swam in the pool. Now, discus dart in my tank. They race forward, my memory races back to days with grandma. I hear her laugh, feel her love. The orange-red hues on the discus transport me to a time of tropical color, carefree adventure. I think of grandma. I look at the discus. I smile.
Sunrise splashes strands of saffron-crimson-citrine on the stone pyramids of Khufu, one of the wonders of the ancient world. These imposing structures were built in Egypt in 2560 BC. Visible from the bustling streets of Giza, they impress with vibrant hues at dawn. Colors cavort, like the resplendent Red Cover Discus.
A camel wanders by, kicking up dust. Chiffon yellow and walnut brown sand frame the now rose-chartreuse sky, pyramids outlined against the rising sun. I gaze skyward and see both the pyramids and the Red Cover Discus: they dart past light, coral, seaweed. Sunrise against the pyramids always reminds me of the discus: welcoming, playful, ode to an ancient wonder. Not everyone can travel to Egypt, but the alluring red-orange of the Red Cover Discus can be yours. Everyday. Create your own aquatic sunrise and journey within.

I received them, they're alive. I did notice they don't have the blue ring that's on their fins as displayed on the website. From Michael: They do indeed have the blue ring. It will come out more in better lighting.
Yes I received them, I talked to you on the phone, they're absolutely beautiful I am so shocked how they like people, they will eat from my hands and they're also eating great. Thank you again! Kristine B.
