Snow Eruption Leopard Discus, Tangerine Base

The rare Eruption Leopard Discus is the choice when you crave molten orange, a distinctive color that offers an elegant fluidity amid vibrant tangerine intensity. On closer look you notice the subtler, darker Eruption Leopard spots, mixed with lighter striations. Add softer distinctions matching with Cobalt Blue, Fine Line Green Snakeskin, White Butterfly, or Heckel Discus.

A few years back I had the chance to go to Kauai with some friends and I’d have to say that the most noteworthy moment was when we immersed ourselves in full on nature exploration. I had the most exhilarating hike of my life as we climbed up Mauna Loa (the world’s largest volcano.) And although we didn’t get to see the flow of red hot lava, we vividly imagined what it would be like as our tour guide handed us pictures of a very active and vibrant red and orange lava current. As we walked up the volcano we ran into some local artists painting an array of attractive Hibiscus flowers beaming with distinct shades of red and yellow ocher.

When I look at the Snow Eruption Leopard Discus, Tangerine Base I’m reminded of those breathtaking tangerine orange Hibiscus flowers that the island’s local artists painted. A gorgeous juxtaposition of icy ivory hues and piercing bold orange, this fish takes me back to our special volcano adventure.

I remember as we made our way back down the volcano how proud we were to have gone through the entire hike, it was quite the trek! One of our friends had a hand-held speaker and decided to play Old Time Rock & Roll by Bob Seger as we raced down our final hill. A fish of rock n roll excellence, this exceptional Discus brings me back to our mini celebration concert we had as we completed that hike. The off-key and off-beat singing along that truly topped off our magical trip…it’s incredible how this stunning fish brings back these special memories in such a tangible way. Definitely need this one as an addition to my own fish collection.
