As a child, one of my favorite things to do was go to the zoo. Lions, tigers, and bears…oh my! Of all the exhibits and animals to see, the tigers were by far my favorite. How can you beat the thrill of seeing such a dangerous animal up close, while simultaneously being safe enough away from it? You’re free to take all the time in the world to gaze upon him without the fear that he’ll eat you at any moment. I’d stare hard through the bars of the cage, soaking in every detail of the tigers’ glorious stripes, fearsome claws, and sharp teeth.
As I watch the light glint off the Trombeta Blue Royal as he darts around in his tank, I am reminded once again of those majestic tigers at the zoo. This fish has the same bright orange and yellow exterior, streaked with stripes of black, that takes me back to those times at the zoo – the tank alike, in many ways, to the cage that held back those regal tigers all those years ago – and I can’t resist adding this fish to my own tank at home.
